1. A patient comes to your office and complains of pain in their joints. The pain is constant, regardless of movement, but comes and goes in waves. 2. A patient has recently been diagnosed as positive for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The patient is unsure whether the medication regimen prescribed is actually helping. The patient complains of several side-effects and is especially upset because he or she was asymptomatic before beginning treatment. How would you respond? What information about the progression of HIV/AIDS could you provide that will aid in the patient in sticking to the treatment regimen?
3. A mother comes to your office and complains that her daughter’s school is pushing HPV vaccination. She explains that her daughter is only 11-years old and is not sexually active. She asks for your advice. How do you respond? What would you tell her about the HPV vaccine? What would you tell her about HPV?
